The beauty of nature stirs the emotions and inspires the spirit. Develop an intimate understanding of plant structure while conveying an emotional, aesthetic response to what you see.
Using graphite, learn to simplify the innumerable details of nature, develop a feel for composition and strengthen your drawing technique. Each week we will meet at a different location within the stunning Washington Park Arboretum. Upon arrival, you will evaluate the compositional possibilities of the location with quick notan sketches, then settle in for a sustained drawing period focusing on both distant and close-up plant forms. Individual instruction and constructive critique keep you moving smoothly through the drawing process.
