Drawing Trees in Silverpoint - Fridays 10:00am PT, Feb 26 - Mar 26

Fridays | Feb 26 – Mar 26 | 10:00am-12:00pm

This class is Asynchronous: The class will consist of a weekly recorded demo + 2 hours in class on Zoom.

Learn how to create delicate, gleaming drawings in silver!

Silverpoint is a fascinating drawing medium. Before graphite pencils were developed, artists made drawings with silver wire! The medium can be challenging – you must prepare the surface before the silver will make marks and it is almost impossible to erase – but when you see your drawing shimmer in the light, you’ll know it’s well worth the extra preparation!

In this class you will:

Learn how to prepare a ground that will accept the silver

Plan your drawing and transfer it to the ground

Learn how to draw with the silverpoint and other silver objects

Create beautiful drawings of trees

“Drawing Trees in Graphite” highly recommended as a prerequisite. The class will consist of a weekly recorded demo + 2 hours in class on Zoom + Email Critiques.
